Artisans of Banjara started as a social initiative in July 2020 amidst the first lockdown of the COVID-19 pandemic, to support livelihoods of the artisans and vendors at the Banjara Market in Gurugram.
In the last year, we’ve helped Anaar didi, Manju didi, Ravi bhaiya, Ashok bhaiya, Anil bhaiya, Vikram bhaiya, Phoolwati didi, and so many others make a living and we’re grateful they gave us the chance!
We dabbled with Candles, Christmas Decor, Ceramics, Cushions, Wood decor, Rugs, Runners and the most beautiful and rare items one could get their hands on.
With the COVID 19 lockdown rules and worsening conditions of the economy, the merchants at Banjara are struggling to keep their livelihood. Our goal is to bring the art of these artisans and merchants, and of so many others from all corners of India to the online shopper, using the world wide web.
At Artisans of Banjara, we hope that we give these artisans and merchants, a fair price for their effort and build a long sustainable business model that will serve as an example for various other markets in India.
